Compare… we are simply going to be the coolest cart around. Feature List.
Thanks for your input fotis.
We are not like those other “web 2.0″ apps. We are for real, we may be slow, but we are for real.
We will do our best!
FreeCSScart seems like a good approach to a shopping cart, based only on what you say. But the distance from “words” to “reality” is quite big. This is the only thing I agree on with “abcdef”. Just build the damn thing and let people judge it afterwards! Not before release!! Besides, more or less you know what people would want to be different. Otherwise you would not bother making it, right?
Your “marketing” approach reminds me of the many web2.0 projects that started off (I’m not saying you have a web2.0 app) and eventually ended nowhere!!
Release an alpha or beta distro and let the people give you more insight and feedback. By just telling what this cart is about is like letting the people dream of something that in the end might not live up to the expectations.
In conclusion, I disagree with your marketing approach, not your product. And all this is just a friendly note.
By the way, you have forgotten to mention VirtueMart which is by far the best from all the cart solutions you compare FreeCSScart to!!
What???
I think that you need to re read what we have written. We have never talked about “Comprehensive Forum Support” for anything outside of our own website. We’re not going to have forum support inside of the cart. That is crazy… Anyway… thanks for the compliments and supporting this idea! It is because of people like you and those strong words of encouragement, that can allow the human race to attain such great feats! Thanks agian!
Looks like you guys are already suffering from feature bloat. And you haven\’t released yet. This project had a lot of promise, now I\’m certain it\’s destined to fail–this package should in no way encompass ALL of what the failed (yes OSC, ZC, etc. despite their popularity are FAILED projects from a developers point of view,) packages include and more. It should have been a lightweight cart that focused on shipping and payment options and had it\’s user account/auth mechanism completely DECOUPLED from the app so it could easily be integrated elsewhere. Who the hell wants \”Comprehensive Forum Support\” in their shopping cart? What a joke, the moment you released your survey, you were destined for mediocrity. Just build the killer tool and the right people will get on board. Don\’t ask them what they want… and don\’t offer to appease everyone. I\’m literally sick to my stomach–this sucks.
